Masyif el Mir Site / Marj el Qaaq / Akasya Hill / Lake / Panoramic Point
Nice Loop in the Barouk Reserve.
Moderate Difficulty mostly in shaded area, the scenery is amazing.
Very well maintained trail with signs and information.
The trail starts at the entrance of “Masyif el Mir” you enter the forest with century old Cedar Trees, it is breathtaking. Once you start, you have the option of extending or shortening your loop at any of the above mentioned titles. The asphalt road connects all trails and it will lead you up all the way to the car.
This specific sequence takes you from the starting point, to Marj el Qaaq which is a narrow path that starts below the main road on the left while walking down. At the end of this trail, you reach the asphalt road… walk downhill and pass the entrance of the “Lake” to reach the entrance of “Akasya”. From that point on you will be making your way back to the starting point through the forest from the other side of the road.
You will walk through little cedar trees that have been planted to commemorate the soldiers of the Lebanese army that have passed away.
The trail take you around the lake and up to the panoramic view point and then back to the starting point.
We did it at a quick pace.
