Berdakar mountain loop is a trail marked by Trans Caucasian Trails in Vayots Dzor province.
Berdakar mountain ( Բերդաքար լեռ ) is a summit in Vayots Dzor province with an altitude of 2221 m. The trail is a loop around the mountain. If your aim is to climb the summit, search in my trails section for "Bedakar mountain " trail.
This trail is recorded with waypoints to help you easily find the way in some confusing areas.
Near Artavan and surrounding villages there are a lot of trails marked by TCT as this area is full of beautiful and amazing sights.
Berdakar mountain ( Բերդաքար ) trail is one of the hardest one of all that marked trails because of its distance - 16 km.
~~~WHAT you should know about this trail ? ~~~
--- SEASON for this trail starts from mid April till the December or the first snow (though in July, August, September is unbearable hot here)
*** The best season is in May, June ( there is still a greenery in this period of time)
*** Don't recommend to hike in this area from June to mid October (it's too dry and hot there)
*** November is also a good period if you are fond of golden landscapes.
--- We started our hike from Artavan ( Արտավան ) village and got back there.
--- Though the trail is considered to be marked, GPS is necessary, as there are some important spots where blazed marks could be vanished..
--- This trail includes tiny mountain paths, forests and sublime sights from the heights.

Thank you for sharing! I followed this trail in July 2024. While the mountain part is breathtaking and the scenery is beautiful, I found the part in the forest (which takes the most of the trail) a bit tiring/annoying - mainly you struggle with bushes, the trail is almost non-existing, and there were a lot of sharp plants etc. It would be nice if somebody took care of this trail... :) but the part in the mountains - very beautiful, I loved it.
