Descripción del itinerario
The path includes rocky slopes, road sections, and a steep climb past a popular climbing area to the town of Guadagnolo, where you can relax with coffee or pasta after your hike.
Don't miss the wild blackberries that ripen in late summer!
Puntos de interese

01. Monti Simbruini and Monti Ruffi view
The starting point of the trail there's a view of the east side, here you can easly recognise the profile of the Simbruini Mountains and the Ruffi too


02. View from Omo Morto
Looking west you can see the vast area of the city of Rome and its province. In the valley below the town of San Gregorio da Sassola and, following on the right side, the city of Tivoli in the middle of the valley.

03. Monte Cerella view
From this point, looking back you have a view of the Monte Cerella and it's rocks, so many that it feels like a place from another planet



04. Terrace edge with view
Here you have an holistic view of the land used for farming with a network of terraces and dry walls tecniques used to manipulate the land. At the west south you can see on the top of the hill the small town od Castel San Pietro Romano, having as a background the beautiful area of Castelli Romani.


05. Faggeta
A beautiful forest encroachment in which vegetation is taking over the human-made. Here you may observe different types of trees, moss, foliage, and mostly a lot of calcareous rocks and walls.


07. Cow fountain
This fountain is mainly used by many animals that pass through this path, mostly cows and sheeps


08. Arid prairies
The panorama opens up and the gaze stretches out towards the horizon. This grassland are called ‘Prata’ in slang, think that in past centuries they were all cultivated and were the main source of livelihood of this area, now those are teeming with animals.



09. Falesia Wall and chicken house
Walking up the path, one finds oneself below a Falesia, a huge rock formation, in the eastern part of the village. It is a special place, used by hikers and climbers alike. Along the way are some small buildings that were once used as chicken houses.

10. Guadagnolo town center
The route ends at the village centre where you can rest in the shade on a bench and drink from the fountain in the square. Moreover, there are two great restaurants here (Ristorante da Peppe e Ristorante da Romano) where you can eat delicious local food.

11. Way back to Monte Cerella
Enjoy your way back with a beautiful view of the Monte Cerella
