Descripción del itinerario
La llegada hasta el punto de inicio (y el aparcamiento) se hace por una carretera de montaña. Para llegar al aparcamiento, se puede poner "Parking de la Font del Roure" en Google Maps. Aquí encontraréis un espacio muy amplio para aparcar, por ambos lados de la carretera. Es desde este aparcamiento que iniciamos la ruta hacia vía ferrata de La Trona.
El primer tramo de la ruta es bastante empinado. Pasamos por el bosque donde hay que trepar y hay algunos pasos con cuerdas. Nada muy difícil pero sí que calienta las piernas para el resto del recorrido! Luego el camino es más llano y nos lleva hasta el inicio de la vía ferrata de La Trona. Aconsejamos seguir bien nuestro track y fijarse en los hitos puestos en el camino. Para encontrar el inicio de la vía ferrata, hará falta.
La vía ferrata
Considerada de nivel K2, esta vía ferrata es cortita pero bien entretenida. La verdad es que para ser K2, viene con su nivel de dificultad. Los peldaños están bastante alejados en algunos tramos y tenemos que apoyarnos con la roca un par de veces. Cuenta con un rápel obligatorio de unos 10m (hay un escape antes del rápel) y un puente monocable. Al final de la vía ferrata, se puede volver por el camino o bajar en rápel. Es un rápel de unos 20m. Hay chapas puestas en la pared vertical de ascenso, pero no cuenta ni con maillones ni con anillas. En la pared de la cueva, al terminar la vía ferrata, vemos dos químicos, que podrían servir para montar reunión. Para ello, pensar en un protector de cuerda ya que podría haber roce. Nosotros preferimos no rapelar y bajar caminando.
Decidimos volver por otro camino y así realizar una ruta circular. La vuelta pasa por el bosque, una ruta preciosa. Nos pilló tarde y acabamos la ruta de noche. El punto positivo es que vimos el atardecer desde un punto alto y fue espectacular. El punto negativo es que de noche el bosque no es lo más seguro al nivel de fauna. Por suerte no hay desvío y la senda principal está bien trazada. Al volver pasamos por el inicio de la vía ferrata del Patacons. Se puede combinar la ruta con la vía ferrata. De hecho nosotros hicimos primero la vía ferrata del Patacons y seguimos haciendo esta ruta circular.
La ruta circular
La ruta se puede realizar empezando por un lado o por otro. Creemos que es más fácil hacerla como la hicimos, pero estamos abiertos a escuchar vuestros comentarios si la hacéis por el otro lado. Es una ruta que vale la pena hacer. Los paisajes son preciosos. No es nada difícil. Se puede hacer sin realizar la vía ferrata de La Trona.

🇺🇸 English: Loop trail of about 9km that passes through the via ferrata of La Trona (K2), located on the outskirts of the town of Vilaplana, in Catalonia.
Access to the trailhead (and the parking lot) is via a mountain road. To get to this parking area, you can search for "Parking de la Font del Roure" in Google Maps. Here you will find a very large space to park on both sides of the road. It is from this parking that we start the journey to the via ferrata La Trona.
The first section of the route is steep. We will pass through the forest, climb and take some steps using ropes. Nothing difficult but it does warm up the legs for the rest of the way! After this, the path becomes flatter and leads us to the beginning of the via ferrata La Trona. We advise you to follow the track and watch for waypoints and trail markers along the way. To find the beginning of the via ferrata you may need to!
The via ferrata
Calificada como K2, esta vía ferrata es corta pero disfrutable. La verdad es que para ser K2 tiene su grado de dificultad. Los peldaños están bastante separados y tenemos que usar la roca un par de veces. Tiene un rápel obligatorio de unos 10m (hay una salida antes del rápel) y un puente monocable. Al final de la vía ferrata se puede volver por el sendero o rapelar unos 20m. Hay placas instaladas en la pared vertical de ascenso, pero no están equipadas con maillones ni anillas. En la pared de la cueva, al final de la vía ferrata, podemos ver dos reuniones, que podrían usarse como reunión. Considerar usar un protector de cuerda para esto, ya que podría haber rozamientos. Optamos por no rapelar y caminar en su lugar.
Decidimos volver por otro camino y así hacer una ruta circular. La vuelta transcurre por el bosque, una ruta fantástica. Llegamos a última hora de la tarde y terminamos la caminata por la noche. Lo bueno es que vimos la puesta de sol desde un punto alto y fue espectacular. Lo malo es que por la noche el bosque no es el más seguro en cuanto a fauna. Por suerte no hay desvío y el sendero principal está bien señalizado. A la vuelta pasamos por el inicio de la vía ferrata de Patacons. Se puede combinar la ruta con esta vía ferrata. De hecho nosotros primero hicimos la vía ferrata de Patacons y seguimos haciendo esta ruta circular.
El sendero circular
La ruta se puede hacer en un sentido o en el otro. Creemos que es más fácil hacerla como la hicimos nosotros, pero estamos abiertos a vuestros comentarios si la hacéis en el otro sentido. Es una ruta que merece la pena. Los paisajes son preciosos. No tiene ninguna dificultad. Se puede completar sin subir la vía ferrata de La Trona.

Rappel - 10m
🇪🇸Llegamos al rápel obligatorio, de unos 10m. La reunión es colgada, a mano izquierda. Hay que bajar unos peldaños para llegar a ella.
Antes de la reunión, hay un escape, cogiendo la senda de la derecha. Esta senda nos lleva al camino de regreso. Nosotros hicimos el rápel que acaba en el tramo equipado más abajo.
🇺🇸 We arrive at the compulsory rappel, of about 10m. The belay station is hanging, on the left hand side. You have to go down a few steps to reach it.
Before the belay station, there is an exit, taking the path to the right. This path leads us to the way back. We did the rappel that ends in the equipped section below.

🇪🇸 Llegamos aquí al final de la vía ferrata. Nosotros salimos caminando pero también se puede bajar en rapel. Caminando, seguiremos el mismo camino que cogimos para llegar al inicio de la vía ferrata.
Hay chapas pero sin maillones puestos para bajar en rápel. Están instaladas en la pared, al lado de los peldaños por los cuales subimos. Además, hay dos químicos puestos en la pared de la cueva. Calculamos que sería un rápel de unos 20m aprox, pero no lo podemos confirmar ya que no lo hicimos.
🇺🇸 We arrived here at the end of the via ferrata. We walked out but you can also rappel down. Walking, we will follow the same path we took to get to the beginning of the via ferrata.
There are parabolts but without links placed to descend by rappel. They are installed on the wall, next to the steps on which we climb. Additionally, there are two other anchor bolts on the wall of the cave. We estimate that it would be an abseil of about 20m approx, but we can not confirm this as we didn't do it.
