Descripción del itinerario
Take your time to see the Santuario della Madonna di Mongiovino with beautiful frescos before you start.
This trail is marked with painted red/white stripes and is called M15.
You can prolong it with about km 2 by following marks to the right at Buca del Calcinaro. Also M15. You will return to Buca del Calcinaro as this is a loop. I did not do this.
There are some dirt and gravel roads, but mostly rocky tracks.
In the beginning you walk in the forest with good shade. Later you walk in olive groves, which are more open. Beautiful views 360 degrees round.
Good walking boots and maybe walking sticks will be an advantage.
The track might be wet after much rain, but it is not difficult. All in all there is not much elevation.
Take your time to see Vecchio Mongriovino. You can walk around it, which you should do.
