Have not been since it was last closed. When did it re-opened?
Hmmm... I think, early this year. Don't worry. Technical, as ever🤣🤣🤣
Hi. In the Google it says out and back is around 18km. Why is yours recorded about 20kilo plus?
Hi. Simple. GPS tracking via regular cellphones, doesn't matter how great your cellphone may be, is not always accurate. You'll come across multiple issues affecting GPS tracking/recording, in certain areas. The most common issue affecting regular tracking/recording during trips would be loss of satellite connection, as stated in most of my past recorded trips. Heavy canopy covers, clouds, and sometimes, cellphone running on low battery may affect tracking. There's a lot of tips and tricks shared online on how to counter these issues, so not gonna share it here. The main concern in regards of GPS tracking via a regular cellphones is that when you lose GPS connection, your tracking will become a straight line, even when you're staying still and not moving. This happens because your cellphone is actively seeking GPS connection, which, most of the time added to extra km, even though you're staying perfectly still.
If you're a follower on my page, you'll noticed that I've highlighted this problem, when it occurs, on numerous trips that I did.
However, there are also times when the GPS connection is great, zero straight lines and the tracking is moving, only when I move. Again, if you followed my page, you'll noticed that I'd like to mark my tracking map with landmarks (water source, campsite, etc), as accurate as possible. This is my way to help those that's interested in doing any trips, with my map, and be ready with any/all information that my map provides. Because of this, also, I tend to go off-trail (off the established route) sometimes, to map the water source location, for an example. This of course, adds km to the actual established distance.
Hope that explains it for you.
