Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo. Today we did the full hike from the two highest peaks of Madeira, Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo ⛰ , and back. A stunning but tough hike that was over 14km with a total of elevation change of almost 1000 meters (or the equivalent of 275 floors!). It took us 6h30m with stops to complete. The views were simply breathtaking, and as the clouds came in on the way back the scenery became beautifully eerie at times
