Descripción del itinerario

Starting from New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel. I followed the left hand path alongside Mill Gill (Wainwright Harrison Stickle 10, route 4). At first this is a bit more rustic than the main path on the opposite bank but soon becomes very clear with steps practically all the way to Stickle Tarn.
There is a clear but narrow path around the lefthand side of Stickle Tarn. You start to go uphill when you're directly facing what Wainwright calls Easy Gully - a big vertical slash in the cliff face. This brings you to the start of Jack's Rake. The route is very obvious but difficult. Have no doubt, it's a climb requiring both hands and feet. Fine if you have climbing experience. Not safe if you haven't. There are lots of hand and footholds all the way up but some are very small and a nasty slip in several places could possibly be fatal as there are sheer drops never far away.
Pike O'Stickle is well worth a visit - very dramatic with fabulous views.
I returned on Wainwright's Harrison Stickle 8, route 3 which starts by contouring above an impressive gorge and then rewards with good views all the way down. Easy walking on a quieter, less populated path.
Very worthwhile circular walk.
NB the trail marked above by GPS is completely inaccurate over the course of Jack's Rake. It runs in a more or less straight line and is very obvious even in thick mist except possibly at its top end.
